Member Spotlight
This is a new feature this year for the CAPS photo club so members get to know each other better, and also to make them aware of what the photo club has to offer.

Please meet Peter Fuzessery, Peter writes:
My name is Peter Fuzessery. I am 42. I moved with my family from Toronto in August 2008 to work for Parkland fuel Corporation. I work in the I.T. Industry and have done so since 1993. I have had the opportunity to work for companies such as CN, HP, Symantec among others. I love technology and will most of the time be one of those people who use bleeding edge tech and try new things. My lucky number is 13 and I was born on Friday the 13th. I also have 2 different colored eyes.
What is your favorite kind of photography, and what is it that interests you so much? I love vast landscapes and time lapse photography. I enjoy seeing a photograph of a Sunset, a Valley or Mountain scape shot from the air where you can see a vast area with all its details and workings of the people below. It give the feeling of flying and almost draws you into the photo. I look at these as a thinkers persons photo.
What kind of equipment do use now, and what did you start with? I have been a photographer since i was a kid and have used a brownie, as well as other point and shoot cameras through the years. I bought a Canon S5is 10 years ago and it was good but not great. Funny enough on my 20th Wedding Anniversary I bought a Canon 60D and then took my wife out to dinner. This was my first DSLR and a huge difference in the quality of my photos. Since then I have re-ignited my spark for photography. I now also have a Canon 7D Mark ii.
What is the one piece of advice that you would give to other budding photographers? Take your camera with you as much as possible!!! Sometimes, you end up in that perfect spot to capture a once in a lifetime event. Even if you don't know how to use manual mode, you can get many great shots in Auto or High Speed. Taking your camera with you as much as possible avoids those times when you think to yourself " If only I had my DSLR with me". So many times i come across a photo opp and i don't have my camera, and ill end up using my cell phone as a backup but I will still regret not using my Canon.
What is the best piece of gear in your camera bag? That would be my Canon 7D Mark ii. 10 frames per second, and 64 cross type auto focus points with a weather sealed magnesium body. This camera is fantastic. I was looking for a 2nd camera body to buy and didn't know much about the different Canon models. With a little research i found that so many people, even people like Scott Kelby recommend this as a 2nd body to their full frame sensor primary camera. Sold!!! If you don't know Scott Kelby from his work, look him up online. His knowledge if great, even if his humor is a tad dry lol.
What are your 3 favorite non-photo hobbies? I'm a computer gamer, I love to cook and I am a graphic designer by hobby.
Could you describe the best photograph you ever made and how you made it? I have many that I would call a best photo, but this is how I took one of my most favorites. My wife and I were out Geocaching very early in the morning out near Pine Lake. The sun was coming up and we had just passed a deer standing in the middle of the road so we slowed down to avoid it but also to admire it. We arrived at this pond/marsh clearing and i had to stop. It was one of those scenes where you could just sit and think about anything for hours if only the sun would stay at its level. The air was crisp, the water was still and everyone was asleep.
