The Categories are:

• Colour Print
• Black & White/Monochrome
• Slides

Certificates are awarded for First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention standings in each category.

There are two divisions—Amateur and Advanced.

Members may begin competition in the Amateur division, graduating to the Advanced division upon the accumulation of 250 points (of a possible 490) in one Club year. A member may choose to compete in the Advanced division.

The Executive may ask a member to compete in the Advanced division. Once in the Advanced division, a member may not revert to the Amateur division.

The rules and regulations are:

1. Participants must be paid up members of CAPS for the year of the competition.
2. Entries must not have been previously entered in this competition.
3. All entries must be accompanied by an entry form.
4. The closing dates are December 1 and May 1.
5. The entry may have been taken at any time.
6. Prints and Slides can be of any subject.
7. Each participant is entitled to enter in each category:
   • 2 Colour Prints
   • 2 Black and White Prints
   • 2 Slides
8. Commercial printing and matting will be accepted but all other work must be that of the photographer.
9. All prints must be mounted or matted to a finished size of either 11” X 14” or 16” X 20”. All slides will be accepted but those other than 2” X 2” will be viewed on a light box.
10. All entries must have a Title and Name of the participant on the back of the photograph or matt or on the slide mount. (The name of the photographer must not appear on the front of the work.)
11. Slides must have a spot in the lower left hand corner as you view them. The Title is at the top of the slide, beside the spot, when the image is inverted for placing in the slide tray. The photographer’s name and club affiliation are placed on the bottom of the slide, when in this position.
12. The awards shall be presented at the Winter Banquet and the Annual Spring BBQ.
13. If only one person is competing in either the amateur or advanced division, then all entries in that category will be placed in the advanced division.
